·è¿ÍÖ±²¥ Fe police detained two of three people suspected of being involved in an armed robbery at a Speedway gas station Thanksgiving Day.
One man believed to be involved in the incident remained at large Thursday. Officers responded around 11 a.m. to a panic alarm at a Speedway on Rodeo Road and a report the station was being robbed at gunpoint by a man wearing a mask, Lt. Heinz DeLuca said in an interview Thursday.
Three suspects fled in a silver Dodge Ram, leading police on a pursuit through the streets of ·è¿ÍÖ±²¥ Fe. The chase ended when the vehicle crashed into a residence and car in the vicinity of Calle Po Ae Pi on the city’s south side, according to DeLuca.
The suspects ran away, but police were able to apprehend two of them, DeLuca said. Geronimo Vigil, 37, was arrested and charged with multiple crimes including robbery, aggravated assault and leaving the scene of an accident, DeLuca said.
Vigil had a warrant for his arrest charging him with failure to appear in another case in which he’s charged with various charges, including being a felon in possession of a firearm, being in possession of a stolen vehicle and aggravated fleeing. Court records indicate Vigil has a history of drug- and property crime-related charges.
An unidentified woman also was detained, but it was unclear whether she had been charged, DeLuca said. A third man eluded capture. DeLuca said there did not appear to be any injuries associated with the incident, and he couldn’t immediately say whether the suspects had taken any money from the business or how much.
