A man faces felony charges after a Ski 疯客直播 Fe employee was shot and wounded while driving to work Wednesday morning on Hyde Park Road.
The 疯客直播 Fe County Sheriff鈥檚 Office booked 42-year-old Gregory Eugene White in the 疯客直播 Fe County jail on three charges in connection with the shooting, according to inmate logs: aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, shooting at a motor vehicle and tampering with evidence.
A 23-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to his back, sheriff鈥檚 office spokesperson Denise Womack-Avila said, adding he was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his injury and was expected to survive.
Deputies arrested White 鈥渨ithout incident鈥 Wednesday and he denied he was involved in the shooting, Womack-Avila said.
What prompted the shooting remained unclear, as court records related to the charges were not publicly available.
Deputies were dispatched in response to a call at 6:45 a.m., Womack-Avila said. The location of the incident was still under investigation, but deputies believe both men were driving on Hyde Park Road when the shooting occurred.
White was driving toward the ski basin in a red Dodge Ram pickup behind the victim鈥檚 vehicle when he fired, the sheriff鈥檚 office said.
Deputies initially interviewed White as a 鈥減erson of interest鈥 for hours before he was booked into the jail in the evening.
The incident brought several sheriff鈥檚 deputies to the scene.
They could be seen sealing and towing a red Dodge Ram parked on the side of Camino del Oso, a road that veers to the east off Hyde Park Road just north of the Ten Thousand Waves spa resort.
Another vehicle, a silver Honda Accord, was towed away from the scene as well.
Deputies could be seen searching for the suspect Wednesday morning in wooded areas nearby as well as at a spot about a mile south.
